Toyota announces management changes in Europe

Toyota has announced the appointment of Mr. Tadashi Arashima as a Senior Managing Director of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), effective 22 June 2007. Mr. Arashima will also join TMC's Board of Directors as Chief Officer, Europe & Africa Operations Group. He will continue to manage Toyota's European operations and retain his title of President and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Motor Europe (TME).

In other management changes, Mr. Didier Leroy has been named a Managing Officer of TMC. In addition to his current role as President, Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (TMMF), he will assume other responsibilities as an Executive Vice-President of TME.

In addition, Mr. Tamer Ünlü has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey (TMMT). Mr. Ünlü is the first local staff member to assume this position at TMMT. Mr. Ünlü replaces Mr. Kazuhiro Kobayashi, who will return to Japan.

Tadashi Arashima graduated from Keio University with a degree in Political Science in 1973. He began working in the North America Division of TMC in Tokyo, Japan, that same year.

In June 2003, Mr. Arashima was named President and CEO of Toyota Motor Marketing Europe and Managing Officer at TMC. Following the legal merger of Toyota Motor Europe, and Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing in October 2005, Mr. Arashima later assumed the position of President, TMME Company, Toyota Motor Europe in July 2006.

Mr. Arashima is married with two sons.
