TMC to hire approximately 800 fixed-term employees
TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announces it intends to hire approximately 800 fixed-term employees in October in view of possible production increases. Recruiting is to center on former TMC fixed-term employees.
The decision to hire such contract employees reflects gradually recovering worldwide automobile sales, encouraged by tax-incentive and subsidy programs implemented in various countries starting in the spring of this year. The global recession that began in 2008 had forced TMC to reduce production and suspend, since June last year, the hiring of fixed-term employees. In the interim, TMC has met production requirements through overtime work and work on regular days off, with personnel support from within TMC and from related companies.
TMC is considering hiring additional fixed-term employees, pending future sales and production environments.
