TMC adds environmentally friendly driving course to safety program
Tokyo—TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announces that on April 1 its safety education center "mobilitas" at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, will add a course on environmentally friendly driving.
The new course will use the center's flat and wide-open areas, as well as its low-friction section, to teach businesses and organizations how to improve everyday fuel efficiency, mainly through smooth acceleration and using anticipatory driving techniques to avoid wasteful manoeuvring.
TMC has reaffirmed its commitment to customer safety as its top priority, based on the view that realizing a society free of traffic casualties requires an integrated effort encompassing people, cars and the traffic environment. At the same time, TMC is actively involved in a variety of traffic-safety awareness activities, including an annual traffic-safety event for children at "mobilitas".
