TMC to display 45 vehicles at Auto Guangzhou 2010
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces that it will display 45 production and concept cars, including two new models scheduled for launch in 2011, at The 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition, open from today until December 27. The theme of the exhibition is "environment and future".
The new models scheduled for launch are the "E'Z", a new kind of vehicle for a new era—an FUV (fashionable utility vehicle), and the "Zelas", an urban two-door sports coupe that is being unveiled in China for the first time. TMC will also exhibit existing production vehicles such as the Toyota-brand "Corolla" and "Camry Hybrid",and the latter of which gained praise as the official car of the Asian Games Guangzhou.
Concept cars will include the "Prius Plug-in Hybrid" currently in daily usage trials conducted jointly with the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, the "FT-EV II" compact short-distance electric commuter vehicle, the high-performance "IS F" prestige sports sedan, and the "FT-86" compact rear-wheel-drive sports car.
At a press conference here today, TMC Managing Officer Satoru Mori, emphasizing TMC's stance on contributing to society in China, said: "Toyota will not simply pursue high sales volumes, but will do business by providing high quality products and services that meet consumer expectations in China. We do this with the aim of developing together with China's automobile industry."
