Toyota announce Management Change

Toyota Motor Europe (TME) today announced that Katsuhito Ohno, Chairman, President and CEO of Toyota España (TES), will be dually assigned as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Toyota Motor Italia (TMI) as from October 1, 2011. At the same time, Massimo Gargano will take full responsibility of daily operations of TMI as President and CEO, directly reporting to Katsuhito Ohno. This new assignment follows as Motonobu Takemoto, current Chairman of TMI, returns to Japan.

Katsuhito Ohno (50) joined Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in 1984. He was subsequently assigned to TMC's Europe Division and Overseas Planning Division before becoming a Senior Coordinator at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. in 1999, first in External Affairs and then in Sales and Marketing. He returned to Japan in 2003 to become Manager and then General Manager for Planning within TMC's Africa Division. He has been President and CEO of Toyota España since 2008.

Massimo Gargano (48) joined Toyota Motor Italia in 1998 as General Manager of Sales. He was promoted to Commercial Director in 2003. He joined TME in 2005 as General Manager for Toyota Sales Operations, before being promoted Director of Customer Service, Sales and Marketing. He returned to TMI in 2009 as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO).
