Instantly identifiable as the latest generation of Toyota's legendary 4x4, the new Land Cruiser V8 2012's exterior design combines the stylish aesthetics of a vehicle entirely at home in any environment with the robust image of durability and power expected from a genuine four-wheel drive machine.

On board, a revised interior combines the vehicle's legendary quality and reliability with a more luxurious, premium feel. It features a better harmonisation of colour schemes, enhanced sensory quality and improved trim and upholstery.

Exterior Design

A new, over-sized front bumper design incorporating integral fog lamps reinforces the Land Cruiser V8 2012's broad, powerful stance and go-anywhere credentials, while the sharply trimmed lower section minimises the effect of the front overhang on the vehicle's off road driving approach angle.

A new radiator grille structure combines vertical bars in striking, chrome and silver pairs, and is framed by large, functional headlamp clusters featuring cylindrical high and low beam lamps and outwardly extended turn signals for improved side visibility. The headlamp cluster now incorporates an LED Daytime Running Light (DRL) and a powerful, bi-xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlight.

In profile, the agility inherent in the new Land Cruiser V8 2012's compact dimensions is reinforced by the sharply trimmed lower sections of the bumpers, visually shortening both front and rear overhang lengths. A wide, thick side protection moulding trimmed with chrome-plated ornamentation is available for a more premium look. The door mirror now features an integrated, LED turn signal light and side view camera. A choice of new 18" and 20" alloy wheels is available.

To the rear, a new combination lamp mirrors the front headlamp cluster design with a double cylinder form, and incorporates an aero-stabilising fin to enhance aerodynamic performance. The turn signal lights protrude from the cluster to enhance side visibility, whilst the reversing lamps are placed on the same level as the chrome license garnish, emphasising the exterior refinement of the vehicle.

Both the door mirror-mounted turn indicators and the rear lamp clusters use high-visibility LEDs in place of conventional lamps. LEDs illuminate more quickly than conventional bulbs — allowing following drivers to react more quickly to vehicle braking - yet consume far less power.

The Land Cruiser V8 2012 will be available in a choice of nine body colours, including three new to the model range White Pearl, Attitude Black and Light Blue.

Interior Design

Already renowned for its quality and practical functionality, the interior has been revised to offer customers a more premium feel, improved sensory quality and even greater depths of comfort and luxury.

Adding to the existing Black or Grey interior colour schemes, a new Shell option is available. This brighter, more luxurious colour scheme is complimented by the harmonising effect of a brighter, high-gloss wood grain ornamentation and high-brightness silver trim.

The instrument panel centre cluster has been extensively revised. It features revised switchgear for improved ergonomics and functionality, a new audio panel design, a new, premium quality piano black paint finish trimmed with high brightness silver, and chrome-plated switchgear ornamentation and air vent trim.

A newly designed driver's instrument binnacle features white-backlit Optitron meters with turquoise blue gradation illumination, and a large, colour Thin Film Transistor (TFT) multi-information display offering enhanced clarity and information detail.

Perforated leather front seats incorporating a seat position memory function are now available with ducted warm and cool air condition. The seats feature an active headrest structure to reduce the risk of whiplash injury during rear collisions.

The 40:20:40 split second row seats adopt a manual sliding mechanism with a 90 mm overall range. The height of the outer headrests has been increased by 15 mm to enhance support, and the centre seat may be independently folded forward to function as an armrest. The height of the third row outer seat headrests has also been increased by 15 mm to improve comfort.
