New AYGO takes over Brussels Airport

  • New AYGO 'x-cite' on display at A-Terminal, Brussels Airport
  • Dedicated set-up for fun selfies
  • Start of sales from summertime 2014

Passengers travelling through the A-terminal of Brussels airport can now take a closer look at the brand new Toyota AYGO. The display features an AYGO in Pop Orange body colour, piano black details and 15 inch bi-spoke glossy black alloys. This 'x-cite' edition is the most extrovert variant of the range and adds a sporty touch to the line-up.

In line with AYGO's 'Go Fun Yourself' theme, the display area includes a dedicated selfie stand. Passers-by can take a funny picture of themselves when they arrive at or depart from Brussels airport, adding a fun element to their journey.

New AYGO celebrated its World Premiere at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. From an iconic new frontal 'X' design to its range of customisation options, all styling and engineering decisions for new AYGO were purposefully made with fun in mind. The line-up consists of 3 grades and 3 special editions, which will be updated on an annual basis.

Both the interior and the exterior have been conceived to allow a wide variety of different executions. So now, Toyota's A-segment contender is not only fun to drive, but also fun to customise to your own bespoke style. More than 10 parts around the vehicle can be easily replaced by alternative colours and executions, within a limited amount of time, even after several years of ownership.

Life on board new AYGO has also been improved, with increased cabin space and an array of innovative equipment. The most eye-catching example is the x-touch multimedia system. Its 7" full-colour touch screen controls numerous on-board systems, and MirrorLink smartphone connectivity allows the car to be seamlessly integrated into the busy online lives that most of us lead these days.

New AYGO, available with manual transmission or 'x-shift' automated manual transmission, is equipped with an improved version of Toyota's award-winning 3-cylinder, 1.0 litre VVT-i petrol engine. Still one of the lightest engines in its class, this remarkable unit incorporates numerous revisions that enhance performance and help deliver class-leading fuel economy of just 3.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of only 88 g/km.

Thanks to the display at Brussels Airport, the 1 million plus visitors that pass through the A-terminal every month will be amongst the very first to become better acquainted with new AYGO before pan-European sales begin this summer.
