Designed, engineered and built in Europe, the Toyota Auris has proved a consistently popular contender in the European C-segment, providing its customers with the unique choice between petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains.
Since the introduction of the first Auris Hybrid in 2010, more than 360,000 units have been sold, and the model currently accounts for 60% of all Auris sales. This clearly shows that the smooth, relaxed and stress-free driving experience offered by Toyota’s hybrid technology has firmly established it as mainstream powertrain choice.
The full hybrid powertrain is engineered to eliminate the need for the petrol engine to run as much as possible in city driving. Toyota’s own data show the cumulative effect of full hybrid operation leads to high proportions of zero-emissions driving being achieved. During a journey, up to 50% of the time can be driven in electric mode, depending on driving conditions.
In-line with Toyota’s philosophy of Kaizen (continuous improvement), the Auris model range has been further refined year-on-year, and is now being further expanded with a brand new Bi-tone edition, offering customers a more distinctive and engaging look.
Available in Pearl White, Tokyo Red or Granite Grey body colours, the Bi-tone edition features machined face 17-inch alloy wheels and a black finish to the door mirrors, roof, shark fin antenna and rear spoiler. The front grille is also finished in black for a stronger appearance.
To the same list of special edition features, Touring Sports models add black roof rails.
In addition, black side sills are available as an option on both body types.
All Auris models come equipped with Toyota Safety Sense fitted as standard. This safety pack takes active safety and driver assistance to new levels, offering customers a Pre-Collision system (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB) and Road Sign Assist (RSA).
The new Auris Bi-tone edition will be available across Europe from May 2017.
