Exterior Design
The 2014 Camry builds on the bold, simple-yet-elegant exterior of the 7th generation model with more dynamic, eye-catching front and rear styling. The sheer strength of the new design is enhanced by subtle detail touches which reinforce the Camry's status as a prestigious, premium-quality sedan.
The all-new front features a striking expression of Toyota's Under Priority design philosophy which awards the 2014 Camry with a more powerful road presence than ever before.
The bonnet combines the Camry-trademark raised central area with a new, prestige-enhancing chrome front lip. Below, a slender new upper grille and headlamp cluster treatment is unified by a chrome trim capping which runs the full width of the vehicle. This trim detail tapers as it runs from the central badge to the headlamp cluster extremity, adding a strong sense of refinement and luxury to the design. The headlamp clusters themselves combine a high beam reflector, low beam projector, turn signal and integral LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) within one slimmer, more aggressively styled housing.Reflecting Toyota's Under Priority design principles, the full-width bumper is dominated by a large, trapezoidal lower grille. The new, crisply-articulated 6-bar grille is lipped with a chrome finish which flows into new, deeply-recessed fog lamp housings, and underscored by an aerodynamic front spoiler. The curve of the front bumper from grille to wheel arch is interrupted by sharply sculpted, brake- and engine bay-cooling air intakes which further emphasise the broad, dynamic frontal stance of the 2014 Camry. In profile, the 2014 Camry combines the clean, forward-leaning wedge shape of the current generation model with a slight increase in front and rear overhangs, making it 25 mm longer than before. The vehicle's elegant, strongly defined appearance is further enhanced by new, chrome-free side rocker styling and a new 17" alloy wheel design. To the rear, the 2014 Camry features new LED combination lamps and a new, wrap-around bumper design which flows from the rear wheel arches to emphasise the vehicle's width and stable, muscular rear stance. This overall sense of width is further accentuated by a slender new chrome license plate garnish which extends into the rear combination lamps, and new, more articulate lower bumper styling anchored by reflector inserts at the extremities. The 2014 Camry will be available in a range of 7 exterior colours, of which two -Grey Mica metallic and Dark Blue Mica metallic are new.Interior Design
Building on the sophistication and prestige of the current model, the spacious interior of the 2014 Camry has been significantly upgraded with a focus on the high technology and perceived quality appropriate to a premium sedan.
An ergonomically ideal driving position is now further improved through the addition of a new, more comfortable, three-spoke steering wheel. The driver's instrument binnacle has been redesigned, and now features a 4.2" TFT multi-information display between the Optitron rev counter and speedometer dials.Controlled via steering wheel-mounted switchgear, the full-colour TFT screen offers drivers a comprehensive range of information on navigation, driving statistics, warning messages, and phone and audio presets.Incorporating either a 6.1" or 7" full-colour multimedia screen, audio and air-conditioning controls, the centre console has been completely redesigned with improved switchgear functionality and tactility.
The gear shift lever grille is now finished in a new, Dark grey colour, the A-pillars are finished with a new fabric and a new Crotch wood finish is available for the dashboard, centre console and door ornamentation panels.New illumination has been added for both driver and front passenger footwells. And, reinforcing perceptions of luxury and quality in the revised cabin, all interior lighting, including instrument back-lighting, has been harmonised throughout with a cool, clear blue colour. The elegance of the new interior is further enhanced by a choice of two colour schemes: Black, incorporating either a newly designed fabric or perforated leather upholstery, and a new, refined and luxurious Flaxen finish featuring full leather upholstery.
