Richard Kenworthy, Vice President Toyota Motor Europe

Richard Kenworthy (he/him) is Vice President for Manufacturing at Toyota Motor Europe (TME).

He oversees all TME’s Supply Chain, Production Engineering and Strategy & Business Planning division.

In 1991, Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK was established, and Richard joined the engine plant in Deeside, North Wales as a Production Control Specialist.

During his time in the engine plant, Richard held a number of positions covering all the different functions in the plant.

In 2012, he was appointed the Plant Director.

Richard transferred to Toyota Motor Europe in 2014, as Director of Vehicle Production Engineering function.  

From 2019 until 2020, Richard served as Vice President of Toyota Motor Europe’s Production Control function.

He assumed the position as Managing Director of Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK in January 2021.  Richard was responsible for overseeing the vehicle manufacturing plant in Burnaston, Derbyshire as well as the engine manufacturing plant in Deeside, North Wales.

Born and raised in Ormskirk, Lancashire in the UK, Richard graduated from Loughborough University in 1988. He worked for British Aerospace Military aircraft from 1984 to 1991.

Richard is married with three daughters. In his spare time Richard will be found taking part in any type of mountain sport such as mountaineering, running, and cycling.
