</pp:summary>

The new PROACE presents a comprehensive range to meet more widely professional needs and adds a relevant offer towards customers looking for a spacious and comfortable car.
Design and Packaging

Its striking Under Priority frontal design language identifying it as the latest addition to the Toyota family, the new PROACE is available in a choice of three body sizes - Compact, Medium and Long.4.6 m long and with a 2.9 m wheelbase, the Compact version offers a remarkable size/roominess ratio. Despite still offering a 9-seat cabin capacity or a 4.6 to 5.1 cubic metres load compartment volume, its turning circle of only 11.3 metres makes it easy to manoeuvre and park in built-up areas. The Medium version is 4.9 m long with a 3.2 m wheelbase. The Long version has the same 3.2 m wheelbase but features an extended rear overhang for greater cargo capacity, increasing overall length to 5.3 m. All variants are 2.2 m wide and 1.9 m high.

Powertrains

The new PROACE range is available with a range of five powertrains featuring 1.6 and 2.0 litre diesel engines offering a choice of power outputs and transmissions. Incorporating Toyota’s Stop & Start system, the entire range benefits from CO2 emissions reductions over outgoing models, and now targets best-in-class CO2 emissions in the Medium Duty Van (MDV) segment.A 70 kW/95 DIN hp variant of the 1.6 litre engine may be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission (210 Nm torque) or a 6-speed robotised manual transmission (240 Nm torque). The former generates CO2 emissions of 144 to 148 g/km and fuel consumption of 5.5 to 5.6 l/100 km, whilst, equipped with Stop & Start, the latter just 135 to 139 g/km and fuel consumption of 5.2 to 5.4 l/100 km.Delivering 300 Nm of torque, a more powerful, 85 kW/115 DIN hp version of the 1.6 litre unit is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Featuring Stop & Start, it generates CO2 emissions of 133-137 g/km CO2 and fuel consumption of 5.1 to 5.2 l/100 km.Recommended for increased payloads thanks to their high torque of 340 Nm and 370 Nm respectively, both the 90 kW/122 DIN hp and 110 kW/150 DIN hp variants of the 2.0 litre turbodiesel are mated to 6-speed manual transmissions. Equipped with Stop & Start, they generate 139-143 g/km of CO2 and fuel consumption of 5.3 to 5.5 l/100 km.Mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and delivering 400 Nm of torque, the 130 kW/177 DIN hp variant of the 2.0 litre unit is the most powerful engine in the new PROACE VAN model range. Equipped with Stop & Start, it generates CO2 emissions of 151-155 g/km and fuel consumption of 5.7 to 5.9 l/100 km.All powertrains are Euro 6 compliant and are equipped with selective catalytic reduction to lower the amount of NOx released into the atmosphere. A 22.5 litre tank of AdBlue ensures the optimal functioning of the system for 15,000 km. The tank can be easily refiled via a filling flap on the B-pillar, accessible behind a cover with the driver’s door open.A standard maintenance interval of 40,000 km - two years variable1 contributes to a low cost of ownership.

Karl Schlicht, Executive Vice President, Toyota Motor Europe

</pp:summary>

Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen,

And welcome to Toyota.

Today, we are 61 days into the new year. A good time to briefly look back at 2015.

In spite of challenging circumstances, we achieved our targets.

In the East, we maintained our market share of 7.7%, in a very unstable environment. So Russia remains one of our highest volume markets, in spite of the depreciation of the Rouble,

while Lexus set an all time record there in 2015.

In the West, we increased sales by 9.5%.

And we did so in a profitable way. In fact, in the first nine months of our fiscal year, the operating profit was around 380 milion Euro, despite the though situation in the Eastern markets

We achieved these results, because we dare to be different:

Different because we do not chase volume at any cost,

Different because of our absolute focus on customer satisfaction,

And different because of our total commitment to Hybrid.

We were also pleased to confirm the growing importance of our locally produced models. In 2015,

70 % of Toyotas sold in Europe, were produced in Europe, a 6 percentage point increase.

And as I just mentioned, Hybrid is at the core of our strategy. We sold nearly 210.000 hybrids last year, 20% more than in 2014. Here in Western Europe, hybrids now represent 1/3 of our sales.

The fact that hybrid gains popularity in spite of falling fuel prices, shows that customers prefer them not only for their fuel economy. They appreciate the low cost of ownership, and the benefits of an electric drivetrain, without range anxiety. But overall, it’s the ‘feel good’ factor that makes hybrid drivers feel just a little bit special.

With this in mind, let’s now focus on 2016 and beyond.

We will continue to strive for ‘Better’: Better Cars, better Quality and better Service. Because ultimately, that is, what determines the customers’ smiles.

We also anticipate the future needs of society, by developing better mobility solutions such as the i-ROAD project in Grenoble (France) or the revolutionary Mirai fuel cell car.

It has the potential to trigger a societal transformation, and we Toyota are ready to play an important role in a movement that has the potential to change the world…

Because Mirai offers no-compromise driving: only water as emissions. Full torque and power, no compromise. Normal driving range, again no compromise.

And at the same time, we are constantly looking for ways to make driving more fun, as demonstrated here with the Kikai Concept, that lets its driver re-discover the magic of mechanics.

We also strive towards ‘always better’ safety for all, as we continue to democratize advanced safety technologies, because we genuinely care about the well-being of our customers.

Last year, Toyota Safety Sense was already available – either as standard equipment or as an affordable option on 70% of our vehicles sold. Latest by the end of 2017, that will be 100%.

Going back to ever better cars, the first new product today, is ‘Toyota Quality and Reliability’ personified: the all-New Hilux.

It is a car that is special to me, because it is built in South Africa, my home country. It is used all across the globe, in the toughest of circumstances.

Testament to this is its recent performance in the Dakar, where we finished on the podium.

Ladies and gentlemen,

The all-new Toyota Hilux!

< REVEAL >

So here it is - the toughest pick-up truck in the world, just got even tougher, thanks to:

a chassis that is 20% more rigid,

20% more wheel travel,

and an even stronger cargo deck.

Paradoxically, it is also more comfortable, quieter, and has a completely upgraded interior,

with near Premium Brand levels of design and execution.

By making it easier on its driver, the new Hilux becomes an even more capable companion,

ready to tackle whatever you throw at it.

It will of course come with Toyota Safety Sense, and with a new 2.4 D-4D engine, More powerful,

more frugal, and with more torque. When it arrives in dealerships in early Summer, it will be ready

to reassume its role of segment leader. The second new vehicle that I would like to introduce,

is the Toyota PROACE VERSO.

This brand new product, developed from our cooperation with PSA, enables us to re-enter the LCV market with full strength. Customers will have a choice of over 30 different body/engine combinations, including:

various passenger versions,

long or mid wheelbase,

but also

an innovative short wheelbase version, bridging the gap between the classic Light Commercial Vehicle and a Car Derived Van.

And here on stand, we have the PROACE VERSO,

a comfortable 8-seater MPV.

Ladies and Gentlemen, The new PROACE VERSO!

< REVEAL >

The new PROACE will come with two new diesels, ranging from 95hp to 180hp, and of course with Toyota Safety Sense, which helped PROACE VERSO achieve a 5-star NCAP rating.

There will be a wide selection of genuine Toyota accessories to suit the most diverse requirements.

With the comprehensive Toyota warranty, supported by a quality Toyota dealer network, PROACE is a very compelling package for anyone relying on their van to earn a living.

But, as you can see, there is more excitement to come. For that, let me hand over to Karl Schlicht,

our EVP for Sales and Marketing.

< KARL WALKS ON STAGE >

Good morning

Dr. van Zyl already mentioned the enormous importance of hybrid to our brand.

3 examples:

This year, nearly 40% of all Yaris sold will be Hybrid

For Auris, the hybrid mix will be nearly 60%!

And just a few weeks ago, with our RAV4, we introduced Hybrid in the heart of the C-SUV segment- an important next step towards our vision of 50% TOTAL hybrid sales mix by 2020.

But for a few years, you have been asking, why doesn't Toyota introduce a C-Cross Over? Well we have to admit we are a little late, but - there is very good reason. We did not want to launch 'just' ANY C-Segment Cross-Over,without a knock-out design, without being able to use our latest and 1st overseas produced TNGA platform and especially, without Hybrid.

Today, we are ready to show you the result. We call it the C-HR, nickname or short for Coupe High Rider.

Ladies and Gentlemen, THE ALL NEW....TOYOTA C-HR !

(REVEAL)

This is not another concept !! This is the REAL production C-HR.

True to form, and a DESIGN BREAKTHROUGH for Toyota and the segment. A car that will change the FACE OF TOYOTA. Distinctive, evocative...and 'alive'! It is designed to appeal to an entirely new type of customer.

From the very start of the product definition, which was largely done in Europe, 2 elements were beyond question- untouchables...

- Great Design

- Best for Driving Dynamics (Steering and handling)

The Toyota C-HR appears visually bold and compact, but is (surprisingly) a spacious FULL size C-Crossover, actually only 4cm shorter than our last generation RAV4.

Here too, as you would now expect from Toyota, Toyota Safety Sense is watching over its occupants. Toyota C-HR will come with our latest 4th Gen 1.8 Hybrid powertrain and also with our Petrol 1.2 Turbo engine.

When production starts in Turkey towards the end of '16, CH-R will bring a truly unique offer to the most happening segment in the European Market.

Now, let me invite back Dr. van Zyl and also the 'fanatical breakthrough' Chief Engineer Koba-san,

on stage for photos.

</pp:summary>

Building on the experience gained from the first PROACE (which replaced the Hiace in 2013), the new range will include a comprehensive selection of PROACE VERSO people carrier models.

Available in three grades, the new PROACE VERSO will offer customers a choice of three body lengths. Across the entire model range, from the unique Compact to the VIP version, Toyota’s new MPV allows up to 9 passengers to travel comfortably with their luggage.

Five diesel powertrains vary in output from 95 to 180 DIN hp. Mated to a choice of manual, robotised manual and automatic transmissions, they target best-in-class CO2 emissions.High specification levels include unique, user-friendly equipment such as rail-mounted sliding seats, opening rear tailgate glass, foot-operated automatic sliding side doors and a panoramic roof.Safety standards are on a par with the high levels expected of any Toyota passenger car, and the PROACE VERSO has recently been awarded 5 stars in the Euro NCAP crash test programme.

Design and Packaging

Its striking Under Priority frontal design language identifying it as the latest addition to the Toyota family, the new PROACE VERSO will be available in a choice of three body sizes - Compact, Medium and Long.

4.6 m long and with a 2.9 m wheelbase, the Compact version offers a remarkable size/roominess ratio. Despite still offering a 9-seat cabin capacity, its turning circle of only 11.3 metres makes it easy to manoeuvre and park in built-up areas.

The Medium version is 4.9 m long with a 3.2 m wheelbase. The Long version has the same 3.2 m wheelbase but features an extended rear overhang for greater luggage capacity, increasing overall length to 5.3 m.

Benefitting from practical, left- and right-hand side sliding rear doors and a top-hinged tailgate, all three PROACE VERSO variants are 2.2 m wide and 1.9 m high.

Family grade models may be identified by coloured bumpers, a chrome trim surround to the lower front grille, foglamps and separate-opening tailgate glass fitted as standard. A grade dependent choice of wheels includes 16” or 17” steel full-wheel covers and 17” alloys.

A comprehensive options list includes foot-operated automatic sliding side doors and, on all grades of Medium and Long vehicles, a panoramic glass roof.

On board, the robust, functional and spacious interior has been designed to meet the needs of both private and commercial owners, transporting up to nine passengers, and their luggage, in comfort. Comprehensive storage throughout the cabin includes cup-holders and generous door pockets. The dashboard design features clear, analogue dial instrumentation and ergonomic switchgear. Boasting excellent all-round visibility, the PROACE VERSO’s SUV-like driving position features a short-throw gear lever mounted as close to the steering wheel as possible, maximising the time driver spends with both hands on the wheel.

Three interior grades build on the carpet flooring and durable seat fabric of the entry level PROACE VERSO with high quality inserts, metallic trim, premium upholstery and, on top-of-the-range models, a centre console-mounted, full-colour, multimedia touch screen.

Grade Structure and Seating Formats

The new PROACE VERSO offers customers a choice of three grades - Shuttle, Family and VIP. Shuttle and Family grades are available in either Compact, Medium or Long body styles, and VIP grade in Medium and Long bodied variants.

Targeting the self-employed owner and either family or commercial use, with low running costs, the Shuttle grade features a carpeted floor and higher quality fabric upholstery. It is available with a choice of 8- or 9-passenger seating configurations.

The Family grade focuses on space, modularity and comfort for leisure users. Its 8-passenger seating layout combines ‘captain’s chair’ front seats with rail-mounted, sliding and removable, 60:40 split second and third row seating, for MPV levels of interior flexibility and practicality. Second row passengers benefit from aeroplane-style tables, and all six rear seats are equipped with the Isofix system.

Designed for use as executive transport and recognisable by its privacy glass, the VIP grade offers customers range-topping equipment specification and comfort levels. Also featuring rail-mounted, sliding and removable second and third row seats, it offers of choice of 6- or 7-seat interior configurations. Mounted on rails between the two second row seats, a foldable table can be deployed for the comfort of rear passengers.

The latter combines front and middle row ‘captain’s chairs’ with a 60:40 split rear tier, whilst the former’s three rows of twinned ‘captain’s chairs’ represent the ultimate in people carrier luxury. Unique to the VIP grade, the centre row seats of either format may be reversed for a more informal travelling configuration.

Powertrains

The new PROACE VERSO will be available with a range of five powertrains featuring 1.6 and 2.0 litre diesel engines offering a choice of power outputs and transmissions. Incorporating Stop & Start system, they target best-in-class CO2 emissions.

A 70 kW/95 DIN hp variant of the 1.6 litre engine may be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed robotised manual transmission. The former generates CO2 emissions of 144-148 g/km, whilst, equipped with Stop & Start, the later just 135-139* g/km.

A more powerful, 85 kW/115 DIN hp version of the 1.6 litre unit is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Featuring Stop & Start, it generates CO2 emissions of 133-137 g/km CO2.

The 2.0 litre, 110 kW/150 DIN hp turbodiesel is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Equipped with Stop & Start, it generates 139-143 g/km of CO2. Mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, the 130 kW/180 DIN hp variant of the 2.0 litre unit is the most powerful engine in the new PROACE VERSO model range. Equipped with Stop & Start, it generates CO2 emissions of 151-159* g/km.

Safety

The new PROACE VERSO is equipped with ‘Toyota Safety Sense’, a newly developed set of active safety technologies designed to help prevent or mitigate collisions across a wide range of traffic situations. In addition, it has recently been awarded a 5-star Euro NCAP crash test rating.

Combining millimetre-wave radar and camera technology for advanced detection capabilities, the new Toyota people carrier’s active safety systems include Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Driver Attention Alert, Road Sign Assist and Intelligent Speed Adaptation, Adaptive Front Lighting, and an Automatic High Beam system.

2016 geneva,2016 proace verso,2016 proace
