In addition to vehicles that raced in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), in which the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team won its third successive triple crown in 2023, and in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), in which TGR won its fifth consecutive double title in 2023, the “TGR TEAM au TOM’S” No. 36, which won the 2023 Super GT, and the “Kuo VANTELIN TEAM TOM’S” No. 37, which won the 2023 Japanese Super Formula Championship, are also to be on display. They are to be joined by the CP ROOKIE PRIUS CNF-HEV GR concept, which raced in the Idemitsu Super Endurance Southeast Asia Trophy 2023 (Thailand 10-hour Endurance Race) in December 2023.

Talk sessions and outdoor events
The talk sessions are to include inside stories about the development of a new production model and are to feature drivers such as Norihiko Katsuta, who competes in the Japanese Rally Championship and Hiroaki Ishiura, who competes in the Super Taikyu Series and SUPER GT^＊2.

Outdoors, a gymkhana duel between the AE86 BEV Concept, which was first unveiled at Tokyo Auto Salon 2023 as a concept car themed on making one’s personal car carbon neutral, and Keiichi Tsuchiya’s AE86 Super Mame-go is to be held on January 13 from noon, with Tsuchiya and professional driver Masahiro Sasaki behind the wheels. Also, on January 14 from noon, Norihiko Katsuta and WRC driver Takamoto Katsuta are scheduled to give demo runs of rally vehicles, including the GR YARIS Rally1 HYBRID. Details are to be released on the special site as they become available.

In this first announcement of models to be exhibited at the booth, Toyota reveals some of the design details for two battery electric vehicle (BEV) concept models, the FT-3e and the FT-Se.
 

The two concept models—the SUV-type FT-3e and the sporty FT-Se—will present a future transformed by electrification and intelligence, along with the new experience value offered by cars. Toyota believes that future mobility will go beyond providing physical transportation tools to becoming a lifestyle partner closely aligned with each customer’s individual values. Alongside the highly responsive controls and captivating designs unique to BEVs, these models evolve into one- of-a-kind cherished vehicles by offering the joy of personal ride customization, as well as convenient functions for stress-free browsing of local area information while onboard.

Details of the new experience value offered by cars will be released in upcoming announcements. We look forward to welcoming visitors to the Toyota booth.

1. FT-3e
Main features
A next-generation BEV concept model that will enrich customers’ daily lives with newdriving experiences and personalized services powered by innovative technologies.

It also contributes to achieving carbon neutrality and creating a better world by connecting
to society as a transfer medium for energy and data from the vehicle and its surroundings.

Design
An exterior design that combines both advanced styling and aesthetics while keeping the lines and surfaces that make up the body as simple as possible.
 

Digital displays running from the lower side body to the upper door provide information, including battery charge, onboard temperature, and interior air quality when the driver approaches the car.

2. FT-Se
Main features
A high-performance sports BEV model proposed as one of the options for sports cars in the carbon-neutral era, incorporating the expertise gained in TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s efforts to make ever-better cars through motorsports.
 

Pursuing further handling stability and aerodynamic performance, the FT-Se shares major components with the FT-3e. Toyota set out to create a car that continues to grow with the driver through software updates.
 

Design
Wide and low proportions, along with a sleek, cutting-edge silhouette, reduce aerodynamic drag.
 

The next-generation cockpit offers intuitive controls and a more immersive driving experience.
 

A low instrument panel profile ensures high visibility. Newly designed kneepads protect the body from G-forces during driving.

Mission 1000 is a new part of the Dakar Future Program, an effort aimed at urging automakers to develop next-generation carbon-neutral powertrain technologies like hydrogen engines and electric or biofuel hybrids. HySE’s entry in Mission 1000 will be the hydrogen engine-equipped HySE-X1. It will be driven in some of the harshest environmental conditions in what is considered the world's toughest motorsport, providing an excellent opportunity to study how the hydrogen engine will perform in such conditions. This will allow us to easily identify potential issues with small mobility^*2 that are yet unknown, and to accelerate the establishment of baseline hydrogen engine technology. In addition, by participating in the world-renowned Dakar Rally, we can promote HySE’s presence and initiatives, thereby working to further build a global and cross-industry network for the realization of compact hydrogen mobility.

The HySE-X1 that will contest the event is based around a chassis built by HySE partner HySE-X1 *Mockup image for illustration purposes only company Overdrive Racing (Belgium)^*3 with a modified layout to accommodate a hydrogen fuel tank and fuel supply system. Powering it is the hydrogen-powered-engine for motorcycles that HySE is currently using in our research activities. Hydrogen refueling and maintenance will be performed by Overdrive Racing.

HySE also plans to exhibit a mockup of the HySE-X1 at the Motorsports Program booth at the Japan Mobility Show 2023^*4 that will be held at Tokyo Big Sight (Ariake, Koto City, Tokyo).
 

As an association aiming to achieve a carbon-neutral society, HySE has been researching small hydrogen engines and we plan to continue doing so alongside our partner companies, working together to carry out research toward implementing and popularizing small hydrogen engines.

In this third announcement of models to be exhibited at the booth, Toyota unveils the IMV 0^*2, a mobility solution that works with users to fulfill their vision. Toyota’s booth will feature a range of exhibits showcasing the free customizability that helps define the IMV 0. Visitors can enjoy playful experiences, including a refreshing mobility café and exciting prizes at the Capsule Bar. The booth will also screen stories demonstrating the IMV 0’s possibilities as shaped by customer ideas.

Main features
The word kayoibako refers to configurable shipping containers for safely and efficiently transporting parts and products between facilities, sized to eliminate waste and able to meet diverse needs with changeable inserts. Adopting this approach, the KAYOIBAKO is a new compact space concept that represents the future of mobility.

Toyota sought to create a “quality base unit” of mobility through a commitment to interior/exterior packaging and affordability. With an “ultra-expandable” design that allows tailoring to suit different roles, this battery electric vehicle (BEV) can support a diverse range of applications.

• As a BEV with both hardware and software customizable to specific roles, the KAYOIBAKO will function as part of smart grids and other intelligent social systems.
• For business applications, the KAYOIBAKO will offer solutions to various issues as part of the social infrastructure. In last-mile logistics, for example, the vehicle can contribute to smart distribution systems by allowing customization for efficient low-volume transportation. The KAYOIBAKO can also be customized to meet the needs of local communities, such as by installing product display shelves to create a mobile shop or additional seating to serve as a shuttle bus.
• For private use, the vehicle can be customized according to individual tastes and preferences, evolving into a one-of-a-kind mobility. As well as catering to diverse personal uses and lifestyles, the KAYOIBAKO will also contribute to providing “Mobility for All” by, for example, enabling designs that offer easier access for wheelchair users.

At the TOYOTA booth, visitors can enjoy stage performances throughout the entire area, which include music and dance. Another feature is the chance to experience life in the mobility society of the future through attractions that can be enjoyable by all, such as a chance to customize mobility vehicles and racing games with fully hand-operated controls. 

The vehicle exhibits will embody Toyota’s “Mobility for All” spirit, including the new model of the Century and the Crown series—displayed alongside the machines that will evolve into the one-of-a-kind cherished cars of tomorrow. A photo spot with Toyota’s lunar buggy and various other surprises scattered throughout will provide take-home mementos of the future experience. TOYOTA’s booth will offer a taste of the future mobility society that we are creating together.

CAPSULE BAR
The rear of a vehicle will be custom outfitted as a Capsule Bar, where visitors can answer simple questions to receive a toy gift: a capsule containing one of nine different miniature cars and fun secret items.

NEO Steer^*2 Driving Experience
Toyota is developing new technologies that enable drivers to control vehicles without gas or brake pedals, including in a standing position or from a wheelchair. These new driving experiences will be available to visitors through the realistic driving simulator "Gran Turismo 7" (software for PlayStation 5/PlayStation 4)^*3
