                        <title>Didier Leroy, Chairman Toyota Motor Europe</title>

                        <guid>https://newsroom.toyota.eu/didier-leroy-chairman-toyota-motor-europe/</guid><pp:caseid>151705</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span>Mr Leroy, born in December 1957, qualified as an engineer from the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences et Technologies de l’Ingénieur of Nancy in 1981. In 1993 he completed the Management Program at CEDEP/INSEAD.</span></p><p><span>Mr Leroy began his career in the automotive industry in 1982 with Renault, where he held a number of senior positions at their production plants over a 16-year term. In 1996, Mr Leroy was given responsibility for production of the Le Mans plant, becoming the youngest Deputy Plant Director of the Renault Group at that time.</span></p><p><span>Mr Leroy was selected by the Top Management to be one of the 7 leaders of cross-functional task force at company-wide level to achieve real breakthrough in terms of cost reduction.</span></p><p><span>Mr Leroy joined Toyota Motor Manufacturing France (TMMF) in September 1998 as Vice-President in charge of Manufacturing. In this role, Mr Leroy took an active part in setting up the company and constructing the plant, which began operations in January 2001.</span></p><p><span>In January 2005, Mr Leroy was appointed President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing France.</span></p><p><span>In addition, Mr Leroy was appointed a Managing Officer of Toyota Motor Corporation and an Executive Vice-President of Toyota Motor Europe (TME) in June 2007. Mr Leroy was focused on improving the operational efficiency of TME’s European manufacturing plants.</span></p><p><span>In July 2009, Didier Leroy was assigned to the new responsibility of Executive Vice-President of the Sales Functions of TME. In this role, Mr Leroy was focusing on Sales, Marketing and After Sales for the 56 countries covered by Toyota's European operations.</span></p><p><span>In July 2010, Mr Leroy became President and CEO of TME and Chief Regional Officer of TMC for Europe. In addition to his TME responsibilities in R&D, purchasing, manufacturing, sales & marketing and after-sales, he coordinated the strategy of TMC operations in Europe, including finance services, Design and Motorsport.</span></p><p><span>In April 2015, Mr Leroy became the first non-Japanese Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Corporation and in June 2015, Mr Leroy was appointed member of the Board of directors of TMC. His responsibilities cover operations worldwide outside of Japan. These worldwide operations include industrial or commercial activities as well as sales and after sales activities in Japan.</span></p><p><span>In April 2016, he was made, additionally to his previous responsibility, Chief Competitive Officer of TMC, tasked with boosting the global competitiveness of Toyota worldwide.</span></p><p><span>In June 2020, he left his operational functions at Toyota Motor Corporation, but he kept his role of Chairman of Toyota Motor Europe and he became Akio Toyoda’s advisor, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Group.</span></p>]]></description><category><![CDATA[executive bio,hidden]]></category>

In 2017 Mr. Nakata assumed the position of President Director of Toyota Astra Motor (Indonesia). In 2020 he was appointed Toyota Motor Corporation Chief Executive Officer for Asia Region.</span></p><p><span>Later in 2020 Mr. Nakata returned to Toyota Motor Corporation as Senior General Manager in charge of sales operation & marketing planning, business planning and MIRAI project. He developed several projects in the areas of revenue controlling and pricing for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars.</span></p><p><span>From 2005 to 2006, Dr Conrad served as a Member of the Management Board, Director, and CFO at DaimlerChrysler Southeast Asia Pte Ltd in Singapore, and at DaimlerChrysler Africa, Asia, Middle East, Western & Eastern Europe (DCAA) in Stuttgart.</span></p><p><span>Starting in 2006, while working for Daimler AG, Dr Conrad led all Sales CFOs worldwide in restructuring the sales organization across several business units. He successfully adapted finance and controlling processes during the financial crisis.</span></p><p><span>In January 2011, Dr Conrad became the CEO and President of Mecedes-Benz France.</span></p><p><span>From January 2014, Dr Conrad worked at Daimler AG as Head of Overseas Region, responsible for Sales and Aftersales worldwide except North America, Western Europe, and China. From August 2017 to January 2025, he served as CEO of Lei Shing Hong Auto International in Hong Kong, China.</span></p><p><span>Dr Conrad has extensive experience in general management and finance & controlling functions, with expertise in wholesale and retail business, sales, aftersales, network strategies, and efficiency projects. He is also knowledgeable about emerging markets, including CKD production plants.</span></p><p><span>Born in January 1969, he holds a Doctoral Thesis in Marketing from the University of Tübingen and a degree in Business Management from the University of Stuttgart. In 2008, Mr Harrison was promoted to Director of Lexus Europe.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><span>Matt Harrison returned to Toyota GB in 2011 to take up the role of Commercial Director. In 2013, he was appointed President and Managing Director Toyota GB PLC.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><span>Mr Harrison was appointed Vice President Sales & Marketing, Toyota Motor Europe in 2015 and Executive Vice President, Sales, Toyota Motor Europe in 2019.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><span>From 2021 to 2022, Matt&nbsp;Harrison served as President and CEO, Toyota Motor Europe and CEO, Europe Region for Toyota Motor Corporation.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><span>In 2023, as part of an enhanced executive structure to optimise current business performance, whilst accelerating in parallel the business transformation actions to prepare for a carbon neutral future in Europe, Matt was appointed Chief Operations Officer for Toyota Motor Europe.                         <guid>https://newsroom.toyota.eu/richard-kenworthy-vice-president-toyota-motor-europe/</guid><pp:caseid>650642</pp:caseid><pp:subtitle>Manufacturing</pp:subtitle><description><![CDATA[<p><span>Richard Kenworthy (he/him) is Vice President for Manufacturing at Toyota Motor Europe (TME).</span></p><p><span>He oversees all TME’s Supply Chain, Production Engineering and Strategy & Business Planning division.</span></p><p><span>In 1991, Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK was established, and Richard joined the engine plant in Deeside, North Wales as a Production Control Specialist.</span></p><p><span>During his time in the engine plant, Richard held a number of positions covering all the different functions in the plant.</span></p><p><span>In 2012, he was appointed the Plant Director.</span></p><p><span>Richard transferred to Toyota Motor Europe in 2014, as Director of Vehicle Production Engineering function.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>From 2019 until 2020, Richard served as Vice President of Toyota Motor Europe’s Production Control function.</span></p><p><span>He assumed the position as Managing Director of Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK in January 2021.&nbsp; Richard was responsible for overseeing the vehicle manufacturing plant in Burnaston, Derbyshire as well as the engine manufacturing plant in Deeside, North Wales.</span></p><p><span>Born and raised in Ormskirk, Lancashire in the UK, Richard graduated from Loughborough University in 1988. He worked for British Aerospace Military aircraft from 1984 to 1991.</span></p><p><span>Richard is married with three daughters. In his spare time Richard will be found taking part in any type of mountain sport such as mountaineering, running, and cycling.</span></p>]]></description><category><![CDATA[executive bio,hidden]]></category>

Monica was appointed Director Sustainability and ESG Management in 2020, and in 2022, she was promoted to Vice President Corporate Affairs & Sustainability. </span>In June 2025, Monica assumed the role of Vice President of Sustainability, dedicating her expertise and experience to shaping effective strategies in this critical area.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><span>Before joining Toyota Motor Europe in 2005, Monica experienced various positions in consulting firms such as Accenture and Urban Science.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><span>With over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry and consulting, Monica combines her solid hands-on experience with a profound knowledge of the automotive business. Her achievements are in the areas of strategic development, customer experience, business and digital transformation and sustainability.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><span>In 2016, Automotive News recognised Monica as one of the top 25 leading women in the European automotive industry. In 2017 he transformed TME’s After Sales function into a Value Chain organisation, implementing the vehicle life-time value strategy.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><span>In 2019 Leon was appointed Vice President for Supply Chain, where he created TME’s first consolidated supply chain function. Consequently, Leon’s responsibility covered production control, inbound production parts, finished vehicle and service parts logistics.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><span>Before joining Toyota, Leon assumed his first leadership role in 1999 as Managing Director at Kwik Fit South Africa. In 2002 he moved to Kwik Fit Europe as Group Director, managing operations in 8 European countries. In 2011 Leon joined Bridgestone as Vice President for European retail. While there, he held various positions in marketing including product, pricing and brand management.</span></p><p><span>From 2006 to 2009 he assumed various roles at Toyota Motor Europe before he returned to Italy as head of marketing. In 2013 he was dually assigned as head of the Lexus business unit.</span></p><p><span>In January 2015 Andrea was appointed managing director of Toyota Motor Italia, leading the company until the end of 2017 with increasing sales and strong economic results. In January 2018 he returned to Toyota Motor Europe as marketing director, and as from April 2019 as head of Product and Marketing Management Division.</span></p><p><span>In July 2021, he was&nbsp;promoted to Vice President Product and Marketing Management, to lead the expansion of TME’s European electrification plan</span></p><p><span>Andrea graduated at LUISS of Rome, and holds an MBA from Istituto Tagliacarne, Rome.</span></p><p><span>He is married and has two children.                         <guid>https://newsroom.toyota.eu/thiebault-paquet-director-toyota-motor-europe/</guid><pp:caseid>430480</pp:caseid><pp:subtitle>R&amp;D2 and Head of Fuel Cell Business</pp:subtitle><description><![CDATA[<p>Thiebault Paquet joined Toyota R&D in 1996 as an Engine Engineer in Advanced Powertrain.</p><p>He subsequently joined Toyota Motor Corporation Japan in 2001 to work as Development Engineer on calibration of engines and on the development of after treatment control strategies.&nbsp;Later, when back in TME, he worked on the development of gasoline hybrid powertrains.&nbsp;From 2009 to 2016 he was General Manager of Powertrain for Toyota Europe, responsible for Engine calibration, pre-development and simulation development methodologies.</p><p>In 2019&nbsp;he became Director Research and Development, Powertrain, at TME&nbsp;and since July 2020 he was dually assigned as Director of the new Fuel Cell Business in Europe, established to accelerate Toyota’s vision to establish a Hydrogen Society<strong>.</strong>&nbsp;The new Fuel Cell Business will consolidate Toyota’s European hydrogen activities in the areas of Sales, Research & Development and Manufacturing.</p><p>January 2023, he was promoted to Vice President R&D2 whilst he continues to oversee TME's hydrogen activities as Head of Fuel Cell Business at Toyota Motor Europe.</p><p>Thiebault&nbsp;studied&nbsp;Mechanical Engineer at the KU Leuven in Belgium, specialising in Thermo-Mechanical Engineering.&nbsp;</p><p>He is married with three children.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>]]></description><category><![CDATA[executive bio,executives,corporate,hidden]]></category>
