HYPE, the world’s first taxi company operating exclusively with hydrogen vehicles took delivery of 25 Toyota Mirai Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles. After almost 3 years of operation this delivery takes HYPE’s fleet to 100 vehicles.

For Toyota, this represents a concrete example of how its Environmental Challenge 2050 is reducing the environmental impact of its vehicles. Toyota’s ultimate goal is to support the world’s transition from a carbon to a hydrogen based society. More than 6000 Mirai are currently on the road globally, but the ambition is to sell 30,000 FC stacks in the 2020’s. This delivery goes some way towards achieving that target.

In France, since June 1st 2018, hydrogen is gaining momentum. As part of the National Hydrogen Plan announced by the French Government, hydrogen mobility has been identified as a key element of this initiative.

This initiative is part of project ZEFER* that has received funding from the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) under grant agreement No 779538. This Joint Undertaking receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and Hydrogen Europe and Hydrogen Europe Research.

HYPE is accelerating its deployment in Paris with the intention of launching an equivalent service in Brussels at the end of 2018.

*The FCH JU- funded project “Zefer” will deploy 180 hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles as taxis, private-hire vehicles and police cars in Paris, Brussels and London. The project acronym stands for Zero Emission Fleet vehicles for European Roll-out. It will deploy large fleets of 60 hydrogen fuelled vehicles in each of three European capitals. These vehicles will be used in the applications where hydrogen fuelled vehicles are the most valuable – fleets which drive long distances every day, which need rapid refuelling, and which operate in polluted city centres where zero-emission hydrogen vehicles can have the greatest impact on avoiding pollution.

Further information via: http://www.fch.europa.eu/project/zero-emission-fleet-vehicles-european-roll-out

For pictures, please visit: http://newsroom.toyota.eu/

<pp:quotes><pp:quote>

</pp:summary>

As a follow up to the “Toyota Creative Design” exhibition inaugurated in spring, Le Rendez-Vous Toyota has switched to “Sport & Fun” mode with a selection of racing, production, and concept cars, including the famous Kikai, shown for the first time in France.

The Kikai, which was revealed in October 2015 at the Tokyo Motor Show, pays tribute to the beauty of mechanics by taking the machinery normally hidden beneath a vehicle’s bodywork, and revealing it. After the Geneva Motor Show at March 2016, its presence at Le Rendez-Vous Toyota offers a great opportunity to discover these spectacular and unusual details in all their naked glory.

The variety of models shown alongside the Kikai demonstrate how much sport and fun are deeply embedded in Toyota’s identity; in racing, of course, with the World Endurance Championship TS030 in the new TOYOTA GAZOO Racing colours, with Giniel de Villiers’ Hilux that ended up third in the 2016 Dakar, as well as the Yaris R1A and GT86 CS-R3, designed for rallying. There are also the spectacular FT-1 and FT86 Open Concepts.

The AYGO x-wave, with its large canvas roof and cyan blue colour is set together with the small i-ROAD and COMS electric vehicles -participants of Grenoble carpooling system, called Cité Lib by Ha:mo.

Le Rendez-Vous Toyota also offers several interactive activities to its visitors, such as customizing the FT-1 on a touch screen, painting the GT86 with a virtual aerosol, the WEC driving simulator and for children, drawing Toyota sports cars on a backlit trace table.

Located at 79 avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Le Rendez-Vous Toyota is open from Sunday to Wednesday, from 10.30 am to 10.00 pm, and from Thursday to Saturday, from 10.30 am to midnight.

It combines superior environmental performance with a cruising range similar to a gasoline engine vehicle and a refuelling time of roughly three minutes.

Mirai will be joined by the new Auris, the best-selling hybrid in Europe, including a cut-body display to reveal the architecture of the vehicle's full hybrid powertrain. On sale since June, the new Auris features a more sophisticated exterior design, improved sensory quality, a more pleasant drive and a new engine line-up.

In addition, the model premieres Toyota Safety Sense, a new set of active safety technologies designed to help prevent or mitigate collisions across a wide range of traffic situations. All Auris models equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense option will feature a Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB) and Road Sign Assist (RSA).

Le Rendez-Vous Toyota is also celebrating Toyota's motor sports heritage with a dedicated display.

The Toyota FT-1 was unveiled in 2014 at the Detroit Motor Show and can been seen in France for the first time. The red study model gives a glimpse of Toyota's future sports car designs.

The concept car is accompanied by some of the brand's most famous race cars: the GT-One (TS020) which competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1998 and 1999, the 1999 World Rally Championship (WRC) winning Corolla WRC, and the TS040 HYBRID which won the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

The motorsports display is completed by several WRC and WEC pilots' helmets and trophies.

Alongside the car displays, Le Rendez-Vous Toyota is offering various interactive activities, including a WEC driving simulator, educational games, pictures to be shared on social media and special gifts.

Located at 79 Avenue des Champs Élysées in Paris, Le Rendez-Vous Toyota is open from 10:30 am until 10:00 pm, Sunday to Wednesday, and from 10:30 am until midnight on Thursday to Saturday.

[1] Initial European sales are limited to Germany, Denmark and UK

corporate,Toyota,Rendez-vous,rendez,vous,Paris,France,champs,élyséees,store,brand,flagship,showroom
