    ]]>    Brussels, 16th July 2025 – Toyota Motor Europe’s (2) (TME) sold a record 635,328 vehicles across January – June 2025 period, increasing by +1% year-on-year and outperforming the overall market which contracted by -1.54%. A key factor was continued solid demand for Toyota and Lexus electrified vehicles which expanded by +6% year-on-year and now represent 77% of TME’s total sales mix. Toyota maintained its position as the 2nd best-selling passenger car brand increasing sales by +1% and Lexus grew sales by +7% gaining a 2.5% share of the premium car market. Toyota Professional, TME’s light commercial vehicle brand, expanded sales by +12% year-on-year. Sales of Toyota and Lexus battery electric vehicles grew by +42% year-on-year, while plug-in hybrid volume grew by +186% and full hybrids by +2% in the same period.

    Brands and model performance

    Toyota sold 591,115 vehicles between January-June retaining the position of 2nd best selling passenger car brand in Europe.  The brand’s top sellers included the Yaris range, Corolla range, Toyota C-HR, RAV4 and Aygo X. Toyota’s overall electrified sales mix is now at 76%, with volume increasing +6% year-on-year. Sales of battery electric vehicles were up +46% year-on-year at 27,773 vehicles. Plug-in hybrid sales increased +272% year-on-year to 42,200,  the growth accelerated by strong demand for the new Toyota C-HR Plug-in Hybrid.

    Lexus posted sales of 44,213, an increase of +7% year-on-year, outperforming the premium market in Europe, while sales of its electrified models increased +13% year-on-year. Across this period, Lexus maintained a market share of 2.5%.  Lexus has a 100% electrified sales mix in West Europe and 95% across the entire region. Key performers are the compact Lexus LBX Hybrid and Lexus NX (available in plug-in hybrid and hybrid variants).

Both Toyota and Lexus posted all-time record sales across this period; Toyota brand maintained its position as 2nd best-selling passenger car brand with sales growth of +5% year-on-year, and Lexus maintained its position as one of Europe’s fastest growing premium brands with sales growth of +17%. Electrified vehicles now represent 75% of TME’s total European sales. TME’s mix of electrified vehicles increased with full-electric sales up +28%, plug-in hybrids up +37% and hybrids up +9%.

    Brands and model performance

    Toyota sold 848,974 vehicles between January-September 2024, an increase of +5% year-on-year. The brand’s top sellers included the Yaris range, Corolla range and the new Toyota C-HR. Toyota’s overall electrified sales mix is now at 74%, with volume  increasing +7% year-on-year. Sales of battery electric vehicles in the first nine months were up +19% year-on-year at 26,824 vehicles. Plug-in hybrid sales increased +93% year-on-year with the introduction of Toyota C-HR PHEV.

    Lexus’ record sales of 63,697, +17% year-on-year outperformed the premium market in Europe, while sales of electrified models increased +22% year-on-year. Lexus has a 100% electrified sales mix in West Europe and 90% across the entire region. Key performers are the all-new luxury compact Lexus LBX available as hybrid and Lexus NX available in plug-in hybrid and hybrid variants.

The Toyota brand maintained its position as 2nd best-selling passenger car brand with sales growth of +9% year-on-year, and Lexus maintained its position as one of Europe’s fastest growing premium brands with sales growth of +21%. Toyota Professional, TME’s light commercial vehicle brand, also increased sales by +10% year-on-year. TME’s year-on-year sales of electrified vehicles increased with full-electric sales up +34%, plug-in hybrids up +38% and hybrids up +11%. The total electrified sales mix has now reached 74% of all Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in Europe.

    Brands and model performance

    Toyota sold 585,321 vehicles in H1 2024, an increase of +9% year-on-year. The brand’s top sellers included the Yaris range, Corolla range and the new Toyota C-HR. Toyota’s overall electrified sales mix was 73%, with volume  increasing +9% year-on-year. Sales of battery electric vehicles in the first half were up +24%year-on-year at 19,038 vehicles.

    Lexus continued its rapid growth of the past year with sales of 41,251 vehicles in the first six months up +21% year-on-year. The premium brand’s electrified sales mix is 90% in Europe, rising to 99% in West Europe. Lexus NX performed well with sales up +13%, the brand’s overall volume was boosted by the introduction of the all-new luxury compact, Lexus LBX.

    Toyota Professional sales increased to 72,012 vehicles in Jan-June 2024, an increase of +10% year-on-year. Proace City small vans sales increased by +28% to 29,857 vehicles year-on-year.

    ]]>    Brussels, 19th April 2024 – Toyota Motor Europe (1) (TME) sold 319,737 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the first quarter, an increase of +10% year-on-year. The Toyota brand retained its position as 2nd best-selling passenger car brand with sales growth of +8% year-on-year, and Lexus maintained its position as one of Europe fastest growing premium brands as sales continued to surge with growth of +48% year-on-year. Toyota Professional, TME’s commercial vehicle division, also jumped forward with volume growth of +22% compared to the same quarter last year. TME’s overall electrified sales mix across Europe stands at 72% of total sales.

    Brands and model performance

    Toyota sold 300,577 vehicles in Q1 2024, an increase of +8% year-on-year. The brand’s top sellers included Yaris range, Corolla range and the new Toyota C-HR recently began deliveries to customers. Toyota’s overall electrified sales mix was 71%, sales increasing +7% year-on-year. Sales of battery electric vehicles in the first quarter were up +39% year-on-year at 10,229 vehicles.

    Toyota Professional sales increased to 40,852 vehicles, an increase of +22% year-on-year. Hilux sales increased by 15% to 16,783 vehicles, The Proace City small vans experienced strong growth of +40% to 15,881 vehicles while the Proace mid-size van range increased by +7%.

    Lexus success continued into the first quarter 2024, increasing 48% year-on-year with 19,160 vehicles sold.  Its electrified sales mix accounted for 93% of total sales and almost 100% in West Europe. Lexus’ accelerated sales growth stems from the brand’s strong offensive in the D-E Premium SUV segment, providing a choice of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric powertrains across three models: NX (+47% sales year-on-year and RX (+29% year-on-year) and the RZ all-electric. Lexus UX provided additional with sales incrassing by +36 year-on-year, while the first deliveries of the keenly awaited all-new LBX started in this period.
