Paris, 25 July 2024 – As excitement mounts for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, Toyota unveils an innovative safety measure rooted in its DNA of continuous improvement. Recognising the critical importance of athlete support during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Toyota takes a proactive approach to ensure their safety and allow them to focus on their performance.
During Tokyo 2020, Toyota observed that some cycling teams used different national flag accessories to identify their team cars during the races. To improve this at Paris 2024, Toyota proposed equipping all cycling team cars with stickers of national flags. These stickers, along with additional markings on the front and back of each vehicle, not only enhance visibility but also promote a sense of unity and identity among the teams.
As the official mobility partner of the Games, we will provide 80 Toyota Corolla TS hybrid vehicles ensuring the smooth operation of the cycling events. Each vehicle will have stickers on the side mirror covers to identify the country, as well as additional markings on the front and on the back. These features will enhance the visibility of the vehicles for the athletes when looking for their team car, as well as showcase their unique identity and spirit. We hope that our continuous improvement efforts will contribute to the success and safety of the athletes and the Games
At the heart of this initiative lies Toyota’s commitment to continuous improvement and athlete support. TMUK played a pivotal role in this journey, providing 80 Cycling Corolla TS hybrid vehicles and overseeing the meticulous sticker application process. This collaboration underscores Toyota’s commitment to quality and safety, ensuring that every vehicle equipped with enhanced safety features meets the highest standards and is easily recognized by the cyclists during the races.
This job required precise skills and care to guarantee the application was perfect and clearly visible ensuring that the athletes can identify their support vehicles during the fast-paced event. Quality is at the heart of everything we do here at TMUK, and this is just one more shining example of our employees’ capabilities.
Toyota remains dedicated to supporting athletes, prioritising their safety and well-being. As the excitement of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 Games unfolds, athletes will experience first-hand the benefits of Toyota’s innovative safety measures, reaffirming Toyota’s commitment to their support.
