Toyota Motor Europe outperforms the market with all-time record sales of 930,452 vehicles across first 9 months

Brussels, 20th October 2025 – Toyota Motor Europe (2) (TME) sold a record 930,452 vehicles across January – September 2025 period, increasing by 2% year-on-year. Both Toyota and Lexus brands experienced record sales over this period. Toyota maintained its position as 2nd best-selling brand in Europe. Overall, TME’s sales of electrified vehicles increased by 5% representing 77% of the total sales mix. While hybrid electric vehicles continue to be the main volume driver, sales of battery electric vehicles grew by 41% and plug-in hybrids increased by 209%.

It reflects continued strong customer demand for the Toyota and Lexus multi-pathway line-up which meets the diverse needs of the European region. Brands and model performance

Toyota sold 865,401 vehicles between January-September retaining the position of 2nd best selling  brand in Europe. Yaris Cross was best selling car in the B-SUV segment with 11% share.  The brand’s top sellers also included the Yaris range, Corolla range, Toyota C-HR, RAV4 and Aygo X. TME’s overall electrified sales mix is now at 76%, with volume increasing +5% year-on-year. Sales of battery electric vehicles were up +46% year-on-year at 39,098 vehicles while plug-in hybrid sales increased +100% year-on-year to 56,671,  accelerated by strong demand for the new Toyota C-HR Plug-in Hybrid.

Toyota Professional continued to grow volume with 117,410 vehicles sold in the first nine months, an increase of 21% year-on-year. Strong demand for Hilux fueled growth of 20% year-on-year with 36,652 vehicles sold. The Proace Family range of commercial vans with the addition of PROACE Max in the Heavy Duty Segment, also experienced 21% volume growth year-on-year, with strong demand its battery electric versions.

Lexus posted record sales of 65,051 an increase of +2% year-on-year, while sales of its electrified models increased +7% year-on-year. Lexus has a 100% electrified sales mix in West Europe and 94% across the entire region. Key performers are the compact Lexus LBX Hybrid which increased sales by +31% year-on-year and Lexus NX (available in plug-in hybrid and hybrid variants).
