Toyota dream car art contest for the first time in Europe

For the first time this year Toyota Motor Europe is inviting children from all over Europe to participate to the Dream Car Art Contest organised by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC). The contest, which runs since 2004, is this year expanded to include 64 countries, 18 of them in Europe. It is open to children up to 15 years old, who can send their drawings till January 31, 2011 to the local National Marketing and Sales Company of Toyota in their country of residence, or to the brand flagship Le Rendez-Vous Toyota in Paris.

The main aim of this contest is to challenge the inspiration of children for them to express their views of a better future. Through drawing their dream cars of the years to come, the little artists get the opportunity to develop their interest in cars and further understand the joy and the importance of having a dream.

In the four times the contest has been held so far, TMC received approximately 60,000 entries.

This year's fifth contest edition has been expanded from Asia to include Europe, as well as North, Central and South America, Africa, Oceania and the Middle East. The National Contest of each country will take place in February 2011. All national winners will go forward to the World Final Contest, to be held in Japan in May 2011.

There are three age categories: under 10, 10 to 12 and, 13 to 15 years, with a winner being chosen from each. TMC President Akio Toyoda and Akira Toriyama, creator of the world-famous Dragon Ball cartoon series will help judge the entries. The winners will be invited to attend an award ceremony to be held in August 2011 at TMC headquarters in Toyota City, Nagoya Prefecture, Japan.
